KEEPIN' IT REAL is an urban comedy about love in unexpected places. Rapper Kurupt plays Raw-D, an up-an-coming rap star who wants his girlfriend Joslyn (Portia Realer) to steal a recording master from her father, a famous producer (rapper Tiny Lister Jr.). Joslyn would do anything for her man, and risks it all to drive the tape across the country to LA. Along the way she encounters some distinctly odd characters, as well as an honest, free-spirited young man who makes her question her relationship with her boyfriend. Slim (Clifford Stubblefield) is a boxer at the end of the line in OUT KOLD; after racking up 28 knockouts in his outstanding career, Slim has taken a job as bodyguard to a pimp's girlfriend. His charge Desiree (Isley Nicole Melton), however, soon becomes more than just a job to Slim. As their relationship begins to heat up, Slim's life is on the line as he tries to keep his activities secret and navigate a gang world of ever-shifting loyalties.
